What we believe
Sunday101 is nondenominational and evangelical. Our lessons teach what Bible-believing churches hold in common.
What every lesson stands on
- The Bible is God's Word, true and trustworthy, and the final authority for what we teach.
- There is one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.
- God made the world and everything in it, and he made people in his image.
- Everyone has sinned and needs a Savior.
- Jesus is fully God and fully man. He lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again.
- We are saved by God's grace through faith in Jesus, not by being good enough.
- Jesus will come again, and God's people belong together in the church.
Where churches differ
Faithful churches disagree about some things, including how and when to baptize, what happens at communion, how the end times will unfold, and how spiritual gifts work today. Our lessons don't take a side on these. When a Bible story touches one of them, we tell the story as the Bible tells it and add a note: talk with your church leaders about how your church teaches it.
Talking with kids about following Jesus
We want every child to know God loves them. Our lessons invite kids to talk with their parents and church leaders about following Jesus. They never pressure a child to respond on the spot.
Bible translations
We quote the World English Bible (WEB) and the King James Version (KJV). Both are in the public domain, so you can print and share every page freely. Each quote shows its reference and translation.
